Who are the Property Redress Scheme?
The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) are a consumer redress scheme, authorised by the Government since 2014, to provide an impartial service that considers consumer complaints about a variety of property-related issues. The PRS is not a regulator or an enforcement agency. They are committed to providing an independent and impartial resolution service.
Why does the Property Redress Scheme exist?
The Property Redress Scheme is open to property professionals to show they are committed to providing excellent customer service and improving standards within their area of interest in the property industry. All businesses who carry out estate, lettings and property management work have a legal responsibility to belong to a redress scheme. If at any point, our clients feel our service has fallen short of what is expected, they may be able to raise a complaint with the PRS.
How does the Property Redress Scheme impact you?
A Redress Scheme allows consumers to escalate a complaint they have against a member of the scheme. The main purpose is to resolve or settle unresolved complaints from consumers who have suffered a loss as a result of a member’s actions. It is an alternative to using the Courts and the complainant must have exhausted the Member’s internal complaints process before contacting the redress scheme.
