20 May The Story of a London Start-up
What is it like to be a growing property investment start-up in London?
Recently, beststartup.co.uk published a list of ‘London’s Best Impact Investing Companies – To Work For and Buy From’, and Concept Capital Group were fortunate enough to join the list. Concept Capital Group, at 19 months old, is still in its early stages and yet the company continues to grow and flourish. What is it like being a start-up in London and why are Concept Capital Group succeeding?
In the impact investment industry, there are a variety of approaches to innovation, with no one right or wrong answer. Concept Capital Group began with an idea and a team of skilled collaborators who all pooled their knowledge and began networking and connecting to bring together the founding team. With partnerships established, the company grew their internal team and departments and then unleashed its product onto the market.
There is understandable hesitancy when it comes to alternative investment products and Concept Capital Group is used to hearing investors say, “this sounds too good to be true”. The concept of impact investing is still new to many. Concept Capital Groups provides affordable housing solutions through its buy to let prefabricated property investment, offering yields of up to 11.1% per annum. The tenants in the homes come from those on waiting lists for affordable homes. So not only do investors receive returns in the form of monthly rental income, but they also help to house individuals and families across the UK.
Concept Capital Group, with the help of its investors, has helped to house over 200 families and individuals. This mission has helped the start-up continue to grow as more and more investors and companies take interest in the ethical investments on offer. The start-up became a member of The Impact Group, an award-winning group and platform of value-driven businesses. The organisation recognises the work of ‘socially driven, commercially focused businesses’, allowing Concept Capital Group to join a collection of impact investment start-ups that help clients to make money whilst making a positive impact.
To accommodate the company’s growing team, Concept Capital Group moved into the News Building in the Shard Quarter in January 2021. While moving during a global pandemic had its obstacles, the staff showed integrity and cooperation in abiding by restrictions during the move and in setting up the new HQ. The new location has allowed the team to work more collaboratively while being supported by hands-on management and supportive infrastructure. Like with many start-ups, the all fast-paced culture and a small team of staff, members of staff are hands-on with many areas of the company.
Being a start-up in London is a challenging adventure but Concept Capital Group has created a place for itself in the impact investment industry. While there is much more still to come and more milestones to be achieved, Concept Capital Group is excited to make its mark on affordable housing solutions and ethical investments.
