Established in 2008 to honour the memory of the titular footballer who was taken before his time at the age of 15, the Kiyan Prince Foundation transforms tragedy into opportunity by supporting the growth of young people across the UK through coaching, education and motivational speaking.
Since its inception, the foundation has made tremendous strides in fighting the knife crime responsible for Kiyan’s death and continues to do so through an array of charity events.
Led by founder, former professional boxer and father of Kiyan, Dr Mark Prince OBE, the Kiyan Prince Foundation will be hosting a celebrity football match to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the young Queens Park Rangers player’s death.
“We need to let everyone know that [knife crime] is a serious issue to us,” said Prince. “So let’s shout about it. We want to change the situation.”
The match will take place on Saturday, 20th May and will see celebrity players such as Russell Howard, Harry Redknapp, and David Harewood come together to honour Kiyan’s memory while taking a stand against knife crime. All proceeds will go towards the foundation’s cause of championing young people and enabling their future success.
